Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Chef de Partie professionals to join the culinary team at the award-winning Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa. This is a full-time, paid position in a high-quality 5-star hospitality environment.
The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations on their assigned section, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations including planning, preparation, setup, and food production in line with menu standards and plating guidelines
  • Train, supervise, and support Line Cooks, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and sanitation procedures
  • Coordinate with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef on daily assignments, production schedules, and menu updates
  • Ensure efficient workflow by assigning prep and production tasks and supporting the team during peak service periods
  • Manage inventory, food costs, waste control, and proper storage and labelling of food items
  • Maintain kitchen organisation and cleanliness in compliance with food safety regulations and hotel policies
  • Oversee opening and closing duties, including workstation setup, breakdown, and equipment maintenance
  • Support wider kitchen operations including banquets, off-site functions, and new menu development
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Line Cook in a 4 or 5-star hotel or high-quality restaurant
  • Valid Food Handling / HACCP certification
  • Strong technical skills across all kitchen sections
  • Ability to follow, adapt, and develop recipes accurately
  • Good spoken and written English, with basic mathematical skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Physically capable of long shifts, lifting heavy items, and working in hot and fast-paced environments
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff
